The Genocide in Palestine has been in the back of my mind since the Israeli occupation laid siege on Palestine. In a lot of ways it was easier to ignore the atrocities, remove yourself from the equation, and forget the current horrors half way across the globe. Then I saw the lives that were affected, people who were similar to me, the common man, being slaughtered for their identities and the location in which they built their lives. Unknown to some, the American government and American companies fund Israel with taxes, investments, and money, fueling the murders of civilian Palestinians. The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement calls for the boycott of such companies and organizations: Chevron, Intel, DELL, Siemens, Hewlett Packard (HP), Carrefour, AXA, Disney +, SodaStream, RE/MAX, McDonalds, Coca Cola, Burger King, Papa John’s, Pizza Hut, WIX, Google, Amazon, Booking, Airbnb, Expedia, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, and all Israeli companies.
This sculpture depicts images of the destruction caused by the Israeli occupation on the people and land of Palestine. The portraits are engravings of two Palestinian children, Hind Rajab and Ahmad Al-Najjar, who tragically passed away. The images were laser engraved on an Amazon shipping box, a product of several companies that fund the genocide in Gaza. The shipping box is symbolic of the American buyer, complicit in the capitalization of the genocide.
“ I watched a video for Dr. Atnan Ibrahim yesterday. He was digging graves at the yard of the Shifa hospital when they were stuck there and they were forced to dig graves for the killed civilians and innocents and children by their hands because the hospital was besieged. So they buried the dead bodies in the yard of the hospital. We didn’t deserve all these good people. Never. We don’t deserve them. And the world actually doesn’t deserve the Palestinian people at all. The world deserves the endless evil, the Israeli occupation.”- Bisan Owda.

Hind Rajab
An Israeli tank fired from a close distance at the family car of six-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab, and a tank shell directly hit the ambulance that was dispatched to help, according to an investigation.
The killing of the child and her family in Gaza City in late January prompted global condemnation.
Rajab, who survived the initial shooting, had begged for help as she bled out among the bodies of her dead relatives while on the phone with paramedics and her mother for three hours.
The ambulance deployed to help Rajab was attacked after receiving approval from Israeli authorities, complete with a map and approved route.
Two paramedics, Yousef Zeino and Ahmad al-Madhoun, were killed in the attack on the ambulance.
“I will never meet heroes like them again, the kind that know they will die and they still go,” said Omar al-Qam, a dispatcher with the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), who was on the phone with Rajab and her cousin, who was killed in Israeli fire while pleading for help.
Hind Rajab passed away January 29, 2024. The Story of Hind’s death gave fuel to protests world wide, many of which were on university campuses calling for the divestment of funds to Israel. A prominent group, advocating for Palestinian lives were the students at Columbia University, enacting a 50 tent encampment on schools and occupying a Hamilton Hall, renaming it Hind’s Hall in her honor. In response to these activists’ actions, Macklemore wrote a song “ Hind’s Hall” in efforts to raise awareness and monetary aid to Palestinian refugees.

Ahmad Al-Najjar was one and a half years old when the Israeli occupation murdered and beheaded him by bombardment. He passed away during the Night of the Tents Massacre in Rafah, October 2024. A video of his father recovering his headless body and raising him in the air went viral, proving a testament to the treachery of Israel. He loved trampolines, balls and playing with cats.
